Me : Fuck this shit
Curt : I hear ya dude
Me : I feel like quitting because I know I am not giving the business what they're paying for
Me : Today, I go to Atlanta to take a test that I didn't study for
Curt : Don't you feel like a such a fraud?
Curt : I totally do
Me : Yeah, I do
Curt : When is it gonna catch up to us?
Curt : I feel like just buying a roly poly wraps shop and doing that for a living
Me : Hey man, I'm down
Me : I don't have the 50K or so it takes to start one of those things, though
Curt : Yeah
Curt : Me neither
Curt : Sometimes, I think about grad school too, but I dont know why
Curt : Maybe . . . If only GE would pay . . .
Curt : Still, I'd lack motivation
Me : Lack?
Curt : Yeah, I have no reason to go above and beyond
Curt : None at all
Me: I'm devoid of motivation
Me : Beat that
Curt : My motivation is MIA
Curt : I'm a POW being held captive at GE
Me : If that's the case, then my motivation has gone AWOL

I'm going to hold off on Japan for now. I went into My manager's office and told him how I felt about the program I was in. I said that I didn't think it was the best fit for me, he heard me out, and offered me a package. The package is that I get to stay at GXS and work in my position while I am transitioning out to a different position. Now here's the best part of it all; I am going to be working with HR to defermine what the best path of work for me would be, whether the position is available within GXS or not. It's not every day where the company you work for says "OK, you're not happy with your job . . . let's help you find a position you would enjoy."

It's funny, I have an increased desire to do the work I'm doing now . . . I guess it's more along the lines of wanting to help someone who is going to help me. I'm pretty psyched for all this; I hope I'm able to move to an area in which I'm more excited to work

So I posted up on Dave's ESL cafe board, and check out the response! Pretty interesting, huh? Maybe I'll take the job after all!

OK. I'm looking into going to Japan to teach English and mack on Japanese chicks. I've already researched the new clothes I am going to buy before I go over there. I was just accepted into The NOVA Group. Unfortunately, this is also the NOVA group. I'm going to go to Japan. I really think I am. I can go over there by getting a visa with NOVA, and then I could work in Japan for three years if I wanted to. The contract that I'd sign to go over there is a year long, but check this out!

Now going over there with the intent of breaking the contract ater I get my visa is not good. It's definitely bad karma, but if the school is a tough place to work, then at least I know I have options, right? Another post in the ESL cafe website goes on to say that the visa has nothing to do with the employer after you get it. That makes sense. I've heard about people going over there on a tourist's visa and looking for work, finding it, getting a work visa, and then coming back to work there. With the situation I propose, it's getting work, getting a visa, going over, and getting more/different work. Every single post I read tells me how easy it is to get a job in Tokyo, so why not just do that? Save my soul a little grief that I'd get from fucking this company over, add a ton to the hassle of getting a job, but having an adventure while trying to achieve that, and I'd get to go to Korea . . . the posts say you need about $4,000 to do that, to make sure you can land, get a place, and find a job. I think it'd be a lot of fun. We'll see.

I think I've ruled out going over there on the NOVA coattails. As much as I'd like to, and as easy as it would be, I think I'll keep the karma level where it is right now and say see ya to NOVA.
